Laura Adilia Eirch was born 18 Jul 1871 in Homerville
(Medina), OH. She was the second of eight children born to John Conrad Eirich
and his wife, Wilhelmina Margaret nee Young.
Laura Eirich was never married.
She lived in Van Wert, OH most of her life, where she was very prominent in
education, civic and music circles. She taught in the Van Wert School system
and, at the time of her retirement, was principal of Franklin School. To quote
her obituary:
"Through the Morning
Musical Club, she did much to further music appreciation in the schools. In
civic work, Miss Eirich served two terms as a member of the board of Young
Women's Christian Association, served as secretary of the Van Wert County Farm
Bureau Federation, and was generous with her energies wherever her community
needed her. She was long a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and served as a
Sunday School teacher, and was active in the aid circles."
Laura Eirich died 10 Apr 1943 in Van Wert, OH.
