This poem refers to "Amongst Friends" when Peter is walking along the road and Brendan cycles up behind him;
Ambrose's words to Peter at the grotto; and also includes the Wake scene. Enjoy!

Love Bar Half

by Heather Morey

As if asleep he trudged along the road;
His feet, each one a leaden weight.
It was easier to leave behind the load
Of Love and Grief and Hate.

A voice from behind spins him 'round,
"Friends in need", says he;
"Friends in need cannot be helped nor
Comforted by me."

"You're not the only one," they say,"who
Grieves for She we've lost.
We share the memory of a girl who
Found love...at a cost"

So they met upon the peak and
Made a pledge that day;
That she remain in all our hearts,
The Belle of Ballyk.
